ADAM MAINEY

CO-OWNER - HEAD COACH - PROGRAMMER

Adam Mainey is the driving force behind Fortitude Strength, bringing decades of experience in powerlifting, strength training, and athletic development. Having competed at the highest levels—including multiple nationals, Oceania

—Adam knows what it takes to build lasting strength and performance at any age.

Adam continues to lead by example, proving that discipline, smart programming, and the right coaching can keep anyone progressing for life. With a passion for helping everyday athletes grow in confidence and capability, he has created a training environment where people of all backgrounds feel supported, challenged, and empowered.

Whether coaching beginners, guiding competitive lifters, or leading group strength classes, Adam brings unmatched experience, genuine care, and a relentless commitment to helping others achieve their potential. Fortitude Strength isn’t just a gym—it’s a community built on resilience, hard work, and the belief that strength changes lives.

HOLLIE WILKERSON

 CO-OWNER - COACH - NUTRITION SPECIALIST

I’ve been coaching since 2018, working hands-on with clients across weight loss, nutrition, muscle building, and teen strength and fitness. As both a powerlifter and a coach, I understand what it takes to build strength that carries over into real life—not just the gym.

My coaching is built around sustainable habits, accountability, and helping people gain confidence in their own abilities. Whether I’m guiding someone through their first lift or pushing an athlete toward their next goal, the focus is always on long-term progress and meaningful lifestyle change.

I also coach Special Olympics Powerlifting, where I support athletes in developing not only physical strength, but resilience, self-belief, and pride in their achievements. Seeing people grow—physically, mentally, and emotionally—is what drives me as a coach, and I’m committed to helping every athlete I work with become stronger both in and out of the gym.

TONY SMITH

COACH

Tony is a passionate and experienced coach who has been working hands-on with clients since 2018, helping people improve their strength, fitness, confidence, and overall wellbeing. After selling his successful building company in 2022, he shifted his focus fully into health and fitness, completing the New Zealand Certificate in Fitness Leadership and Personal Training (Level 5) in 2023. A long-time member of Fortitude Pukekohe, Tony coaches conditioning classes and adaptive athletes, bringing a positive and supportive approach to every session. His coaching focuses on sustainable habits, accountability, and helping people become stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally, while building confidence and creating long-term lifestyle change.
